LaserVue TV hits the market

OK, this is pretty cool, but they are still pretty expensive. Last month, Mitsubishi came out with a 65" Laser/DLP TV. No more lamp replacements, and the TV quality won't fade over time. Best of all, it provides the more color than ever before seen on a TV screen. I've been waiting for these to hit the market for over a year now, but I'm disappointed that they cost far more than the figures thrown around when they were first announced.

I sound like a commercial, don't I?

Well, there may be a downside (beside the US$7k price) - the jury is still out as to whether or not the LaserVue is safe to watch, since it is basically a laser, reflected by a DLP Chip (a digital mirror) to a diffusing screen. Mitubishi claims that there are no harmful side effects to watching their new TV.

I think I'll take the risk if somebody wants to get me one for Christmas, heh, heh.
